The Real Alcázar de Sevilla is a beautiful palace in Seville started by the Umayyads (10th century) and then expanded by subsequent Muslim and then Christian rulers over the centuries (an example of Mudéjar style combining elements of both architectural and ornamental traditions). Well worth the visit.
