MayDay🕊️🕊️ 🪹🪹 Zone#9B, Sonoran 🏜️ Mourning, White-winged dove
Bud's growing on the most prominent cactus in the front yard in Zone9B Phoenix Foothills, look like little nubs against the morning sky. I almost stumbled upon a juvenile Mourning Dove upon setting foot on the gravel, which my image illustrates, is almost the exact same colours as the a mourning dove, juvenile. The bird seemed unafraid tho did move towards shade. What worried me was the bird, a boy, was seemingly alone. I moved away to side of the yard to see an adult Mourning🕊️,hobbling down the street! I thot, the mother's injured; what will become of little guy? moment later, saw the baby bird reunite with his sister!, face to face. Looked up juvenile🕊️🕊️s ,to read about how I was completely fooled by mother or possibly father Mourning dove, distracting me away from the juveniles, who are not quite ready to fend for themselves against me. Not quite great at protecting themselves and still need parents for a few more weeks is what I learned! Bird lore 101 in the 🐦🔥 suburbs.
