Vanished shops in Itabashi, Tokyo, Japan
#Tokyo is in a constant state of change, and many old buildings (and trees!) are sacrificed to make way for new mansions and more concrete. Here are five buildings that disappeared since I came here eight years ago. 1. Kenzō Taiyaki shop, they had huge and unspeakably delicious taiyaki 2. Happo Saikan Chinese restaurant 3. Komaya Retro Games arcade, a fascinating time capsule run by a charming couple in their mid-80s 4. Japonais cake shop, demolished to make space for a condo development 5. Take-no-Yu, a public neighborhood bath (sento)
