An old, weathered wooden groyne stretches out from the shingle beach into a churning, frothing sea. The black and white, square-crop photograph has a textured, grainy finish with a heavy vignette around the edges. The tide is coming in, with white foam washing up onto the dark pebbles in the foreground, while waves crash against the distant end of the wooden sea defence barrier.
