Nurses Rally Outside Kaiser Permanente Tower

Tim Trautmann @timtrautmann.com · Apr 10 Kaiser Permanente Tower, Portland, Oregon, US

A sea of red-clad healthcare workers fills the sidewalk outside Kaiser Permanente's modernist headquarters at 500 Northeast Multnomah Street in Portland's Lloyd District. The crowd of striking nurses creates a powerful visual contrast against the building's sleek glass facade and concrete columns, their unified presence illuminated by the warm glow spilling from the medical center's ground-floor windows in the gathering dusk. Signs demanding "CAN YOU HEAR US NOW?" punctuate the peaceful but determined assembly, while the institutional architecture looms overhead, emphasizing the David-versus-Goliath nature of the labor dispute.
