May Day Strike Banner Drop

Tim Trautmann @timtrautmann.com · Apr 10 Portland, Oregon, US

Activists from the Indivisible movement have suspended a protest banner reading "No Work School Shopping May 1st" across a concrete overpass spanning Interstate 5 in North Portland's Humboldt neighborhood. Below, a white semi-truck and steady stream of traffic flow beneath the weathered bridge structure, while afternoon sunlight filters through wispy clouds above. The grassroots demonstration transforms mundane infrastructure into a platform for labor organizing, capturing the intersection of highway commerce and social activism.
