Cherry Blossoms Crown Portland's Tidal Basin by Tim Trautmann on Grain

Cherry Blossoms Crown Portland's Tidal Basin

Tim Trautmann @timtrautmann.com · Apr 12 Steel Bridge, Portland, Oregon, US

A weathered concrete seawall curves along the murky Willamette River, its moss-stained surface contrasting with the ethereal pink canopy of cherry blossoms that crowns Tom McCall Waterfront Park above. Hundreds of visitors line the promenade's metal railings, drawn by spring's fleeting spectacle beneath an overcast Portland sky. The industrial Steel Bridge looms in the distance, while ornate lampposts punctuate the scene with Old World elegance.
