Record Store Day 2026

Tim Trautmann @timtrautmann.com · Apr 18 Music Millennium, Portland, Oregon, US

Elevated view of a crowded record store interior with shoppers browsing rows of CDs and vinyl on wooden racks. Bright yellow and blue "new releases" signs and a "TOP" sign hang above the shelves, with stained glass transom windows and wood-paneled walls visible in the background.

Customers browse long center bins of vinyl records in a narrow aisle at Music Millennium. In the foreground, a woman in a gray sweater flips through records while holding up a Foster the People "Supermodel" LP. Shelves of featured album covers line the teal-painted back wall beneath a fluorescent light.

Two young women pose enthusiastically in front of the Music Millennium storefront window, which is hand-painted in colorful script reading "Record Store Day 8am-10pm." The woman on the left wears a 101.9 KINK radio jacket and makes an exaggerated excited expression, while the woman on the right smiles broadly in a matching KINK hoodie. Green trees and brick exterior frame the scene.

Shoppers crowd the aisles of Music Millennium, browsing vinyl bins and wall-mounted record displays. In the center, a man in a red and blue striped shirt and camo pants flips through records, while the checkout counter with an Acer monitor is visible on the right. A row of classic rock LPs including Ramones and Dave Brubeck Quartet hangs above the doorway to the back room.

Record Store Day 2026

Record Store Day 2026 at Music Millennium in Portland. Packed aisles, happy faces, and more vinyl than you could flip through in a day. One of my favorite shoots of the year.
